Whistler Tech Part I

It's always fun to track (or trek) the technological advancement of the slopes sports.
I dove into the magazines, Whistler Traveller & Mountain Life, to discover some to the coolest products available today.

The ski graphics these days are awesome.  I'm sure the design stats are amazing too, but I'm kinda more into the aesthetics.  I mean, this is a fashion blog after all.

Prior All Mountain Freestyle (AMF) snowboard was built & tested in Whistler and features a "twin-tip freestyle shape, a stable freeride flex & a hybrid rocker that provides float in the powder yet still rails the hardpack and groomers".  Sounds good to me.

Former pro-rider & current Nike Consultant, Kevin Sansalone, still has his headquarters in his Whistler garage, but his following has gone way beyond grass-roots.  His single production model, 'The Signature", is an all-mountain, freestyle board.  Rumors have it that some head-turning prototypes are being perfected; stay tuned.

Have some money to spend? $4225 to be exact? Natural and man made materials combine for a superior ski from Zai Switzerland. "While the weekend warrior can appreciate the beautiful crafstmanship, these skis will be most appreciated by those working towards a triple digit day season. Standouts from the winter '12 ski collection include the classic Testa with a walnut veneer and the revolutionary Nezza, made almost entirely of an innovative compound called Zaira". Epic.
